Amongst our current library books is a book by Peter Stein called ‘Bugs Galore’ (see a mini review HERE). It’s a book we thoroughly enjoyed and it inspired this creative play dough activity!

We looked through the book together and talked about all the crazy bugs we could see. We then got to work on making our own!

We used a selection of crafty bits; pipe cleaners, buttons, lentils, corn, beans and googly eyes!

We made and remade bugs, using lots of different combinations. Some looked silly, some looked scary and some looked altogether odd! We had great fun!

Then we had to bring our bugs to life and what better way then to let them fly around our garden on such a beautiful day.

Sophia (2) loved this activity, fun and imagination meets creativity and fine motor development. The perfect activity for a sunny afternoon!
